About Me.
My name is Frances Heaton and I am an ambitious Elementary Education student at Ambrose University, eager to pursue a role in teaching in Calgary. I am skilled in communications, teaching, leading, and communicating complex information in a simple and entertaining manner. I have proven to be adaptable and driven with strong work ethic and ability to thrive in team-based settings.

Education:
I have previously received a Bachelor of Degree in Fashion & Business Management from the University of Alberta and am working towards my After-degree in Elementary Education from Ambrose University. At Ambrose, I have had the ability to complete practicums in both grade 5/6 and kindergarten.

My Teaching Philosophy
I believe it is my purpose as a teacher is to make students feel seen and heard. As a teacher, I want my students to feel like I am an open and compassionate individual who is there to listen and make them feel special. Driven by trauma-informed theories, as a future teacher, I envision my students trusting me and feeling comfortable enough to confide in me, because I make them feel heard and important. By leading by example, I want my students to become empathetic individuals and learn how to become compassionate, caring, and hardworking individuals.
